Digital Photography and Intro To Photoshop
Available for Group and Private Lessons

For two years I have been teaching young students, primarily homeschoolers, the concepts and techniques of digital photography. I have put together a very thorough outline that covers every aspect of photography from composition and lighting to the technical components of a camera, yet it is dynamic based upon my student's level, needs and interests. Self-critique, editing photos in Photoshop, printing and mounting are also included in my lessons. The goal of my classes are to give my students knowledge of how the camera works, give them proven "rules" to composition and to "see" lighting, then teach them how to break these rules for their own creative vision. I will encourage each student to have confidence in their own abilities. I will teach the basic and most used tools in Photoshop for photo editing. We will discuss how to edit through pictures and make selections to print and then we will mount them for display. I teach the classes through hands on, visual aids and assignments based on the individual. Ideally at the end of the year in June we will show off our hard work with a photo gallery for friends and family to attend.

I really enjoy sharing my trade and knowledge with anyone who in interested. I feel there is no age limit, young or old, but rather the motivation, natural ability or interest in learning. I am currently looking to hold classes in two locations, one on Ronkonkoma, NY (central Suffolk County) and one in Nassau County. I am also available for private lessons in your home. Although I have been teaching mostly children, my new class offerings will include workshops and classes for adults.
